Corrosion is technically the reaction of a material with its environment, which causes a measurable change in the material and leads to the impairment or malfunction of a component and finally to the collapse the whole system. This process of weathering and decay is used as a metaphor for a specially designed digital drawing process, by which hundreds of particles pass through different scenes to „corrode“ layers, colours and contours of photo and video material.

The project consists of two elements – an audiovisual part (concert or screening installation) and an accompanying exhibition of digital acryclic glass prints. In the audiovisual part Andreas List & Florian Gruber decompose – with e-guitar, e-piano, drum machine, elector noise and reactive visualizations – corruption and corporate profite as the driving engine of human corrosion. In the exhibition part Markus Sigl & Florian Gruber use photographies of abandoned places, discarded objects and rubbish coupled with the visual processing software to compile new abstract paintings out of past corroded structures.
